Home Run Timeline

Athletics Nation offers a nice graph of home runs leaders versus the league average. I find the league average line fascinating, since it shows that the late 1960s through early 1990s was an anomalous time period. Home run rates tended to rise pretty steadily over time except for that period (and during interruptions like WWII).
